His childhood was spent in Poultney, Vt., which was becoming we ll
settled, with schools and church opportunities. Before 1800, he remo ved
with his father's family to Mooers, Clinton Co., N. Y. An entry in D r.
Moore's account book, Dec. 18, 1802, concerning a note matured, seem s to
refer to Andrew, Jr. He lived 25 years in this vicinity. Some of the
descendants understand that the last home there was on the Canada si de
      of the border, near Hemmingford.
      From a Holland Land Co., R. May 13, 1828, Andrew Pember bough t 50
      A., for $200; Tp 7; R. 6; N. W. pt Lot 64 (near Concord, Erie Co.) T his
dates his arrival in Erie Co. (But it could refer to a son Andrew, i f such
were living.) Briggs History of Concord does not list him with far m own-
      ers of Concord 1845.
A searcher many years ago claimed to find a death record of And rew
Pember, 1845, East Concord; but no vital, land or probate records o f so
early date are now available in Erie Co., or Niagara Co. of which i t was
      then a part.
There is no evidence that he migrated further, but most of his
children shortly went to Lorain Co., Ohio. Tradition gives the Ohio
Pembers "six brothers standing over six feet tall."
