The following is copied from that book: "Mrs. Nathan Crandall dau. of Edward Pierce and Bathsheba (Closson). 8 Apr. 1769 Lodowick Updike deeded land in Hopinton to Nathan Crandall of Charlestown, R.I. In 1773 he morgaged it to Elisha Coon. Mortgage discharged in 1777. 15 Nov.1770 deeds land to Samuel Button, Jr. 8 Feb. 1775 deeds land to Amos Burdick, wife Bathsheba signed the deed in 1774.
