    • Philip and Ann lived for a time at the forks of Cooper Creek. Movedlat e r to Yellow Springs in Chester co.
      He appears to have been connected with the Friends at East Calvin M.M.Wh i le he lived in Maryland he built a grist mill between the twobays.
      Tax lists show Philip in Pikeland Township Penn in 1748, 1749, and175 0 . He injured his back at the mill and was struck by a pitman sothat i n l ater years he walked with 2 staves. Lived with JamesUrchland at on e tim e in Chester Co. Mr Davnington. Then he livedwith son Moses.
      The widow Ann lived with son Moses until he moved to York Co Penn. atwh i ch time she went to live with son James . Lived with him 18 years.

      James Packer, the grandfather, was born in 1725, in New Jersey, at th e s ite
      of the present city of Princeton, and was a son of Philip Packer and Ann
      Coates. Philip Packer was an English Quaker, and among the first emigran t s
      to West Jersey, under the auspices of William Penn and other leading Fri e nds
      of that day, and his descendants adhered to the same religious faith.
