Gunlock branch, Washington Co., Utah, was organized as a Ward; Josep h S . Huntsman, Bishop.

On June 7, 1877, the saints residing at Gunlock were organized as a bran c h of the Santa Clar a Ward, with Dudley Leavitt as presiding Elder. Th e b ranch was organized as a ward Feb. 16, 1879, with Joseph S. Huntsma n as B ishop. In 1887 he was succeeded by Franklin O. Holt, who in 1918 w as succ eeded by Francis J. Bowler, who presided Dec. 31, 1930, on whic h date th e Gunlock Ward had 131 members, including 32 children. The tota l populati on of the Gunlock Precinct was 139 in 1930.
