Thomas Hyde (7), born at Norwicli, Conn., in July, 1672, the fourth son of Samuel Hyde (2) and Jane Lee, was a grandson of William Hyde the first of Norwich. He m. in December, 1697, Mary Backus, b. Nov., 1672, at Norwich, second daughter of the first Stephen Backus, and Sarah Gardner of Norwich. He settled at Norwich West Farms (now Franklin), and was a farmer. She d. 27 March, 1752.
